ABOUT THE ARTIST
I grew up in New Jersey with a family that said, “Yes, Christina has Cerebral Palsy and Dyslexia. So..?” Life has been a fine balance between knowing what I want to do and knowing what I can do.
My higher education started with an Associate degree in Art from Landmark College in VT. It has ended for now with a Master of Fine Arts / Museum Studies Certificate from Tufts University in affiliation with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. In between I earned a Professional Photographer Certificate from Hallmark Institute of Photography, Turners Falls, MA and a Bachelor of Fine Arts / Photography Concentration from The Art Institute of Boston, Boston MA.
I have worked with museums in Boston educating people about art as well as preserving archival photographs. My real passion is in teaching. I have been a Visiting Artist at the University of Pittsburgh on the Bradford campus in Bradford PA. Where I have delivered presentations and lecture about my artwork. I have Work with students to create a public art project for the gallery. I been a Visiting Artist at Stanford University in Stanford CA.
My interest in the nature of the human form comes from living with Cerebral Palsy. I look at my body. Then I look at other people’s bodies to see how they move through physical and intellectual spaces differently than someone who does not have to consciously control every step.
I currently live in Somerville, MA. My studio is at the Mad Oyster Studios, Somerville, MA.
